How does a gutter system work?
How an eavestrough system works is by collecting the water that would otherwise drip off the edge of your shingles and run down your fascia or into your home. A properly installed eavestrough system will direct water safely away from your home. Professional installers will take the steps necessary to try to direct water away from your foundation, sidewalks and driveways as well as using the slope of the property to direct the water into swales or towards trees and bushes. Eavestroughs also add to the aesthetics of your home along with protecting the value of your property.
Eavestroughs are made of continuous aluminum or steel. They are available in a large variety of colors to match your soffit and fascia.
Downpipes are available in 2.5-inch square (standard) or 3-inch square (large) and come in all colors to match your eavestroughs.
Gutter cleaning is one of those jobs that has you groaning before you even take the ladder out. Leaves, sticks, pine needles, bugs and twigs all do their part to clog your rain gutters and downspouts, leaving your house vulnerable to major damage.
When your eavestroughs are clogged, water flows between the eavestroughs and fascia, causing rot damage to your home. Ensure your peace of mind and protect your biggest investment – your home – by installing Alu-Rex clog-free gutter protection systems.

Soffit and fascia are two very important components of your home's roof. As well as beauty, soffit and fascia perform vital functions in water and moisture control.
Soffits and fascia play an important role in protecting your home by reducing the impact of sun, wind and rain. Made from aluminum, they are available in a variety of colors so you can match your soffit, fascia and eavestroughs. Aluminum soffit and fascia eliminates the painting of existing wood soffit and fascia. They can also provide a personal touch to accent and beautify your investment.
Soffits are located under the overhang of the roof deck and act as an air intake for the attic space. It is recommended that you use a vented product because it prevents moisture from building up inside the roof structure. With it, rotting and decay are avoided.
Many older homes do not have an adequately vented soffit area, which leads to a poorly ventilated attic. This can cause ice damming and condensation in the winter and an overheated living space in the summer. Both can shorten the overall life of all your roofing materials. To add extra ventilation, extra holes are cut into the wooden soffit.
Non-vented soffit is used on areas for fire prevention where your house or garage is close to your neighbor's or where there is no venting required.
